NAPW Columbus Ohio Chapter Met for a Networking Dinner Event in September

NAPW Columbus Local Chapter co-hosted a networking dinner event in place of the monthly chapter meeting in September. The event was held at the beautiful LaScala Restaurant located at 4199 W. Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. The LaScala Restaurant staff was excellent and dinner was delicious!

Guest and members mingled and networked from 5:30pm to 6:00pm. Marketing tables were available with flyers, brochures, and business cards. My Studio 23 owner Jenni Martini?s stunning pictorial display was included.

While seated and enjoying scrumptious salads, each attendee gave a brief introduction about their business, services or organization. Dinner followed at 6:00pm and conversations and networking continued until 8:00pm.

President Gail Goldman and co-host Linda Kohl drew tickets for door prizes made available by the attendees who were also the donors. Donors received recognition for the prizes donated as winners were announced and attendees accepted their prizes. Prizes included a live fall centerpiece donated by member Linda Kohl of Kohl Consulting, an autographed copy of guest author Natalie Grayson?s new book, Single Sisters Setting Boundaries, picture frames from Natasha Borders, member and owner of Bart & Gabriel Pet Sitting, LLC, two 8X10 photograph sessions from Jenni Martini, owner of My Studio 23 Photography; a strategic online business consultation and social networking design from Amanda Helber, President, Pemberley, LLC and a beautiful scented & fragrance body and bath gift set from guest and boutique owner Macia Spence.

Special guests in attendance were Natalie Grayson, author of Single Sisters Setting Boundaries, Patricia Beavers, Casey Borders, Kevin Duchon, Kara Jenkins, Kathy Pinkston, Macia Spence, and Litisia Solomon.

NAPW Columbus Chapter members in attendance were Linda Kohl, co-host and President of Kohl Consulting, Gail Goldman, President, LaVonia Smith, Vice President, Natasha Borders, Social/Networking Committee Chair, Jenni Martini, Historian/Photographer, Roseann Duchon, Founder of Highland West Players, Amanda Helber, President, Pemberley, LLC, Kimberly Renee Smith, President, Launch, LLC; and Sonya Tyler, Founder of Tailor-Made Training Solutions, LLC.

Everyone had a great time. "We all had a great time and are anticipating the next event," said Gail Goldman, President.

The network dinner event adjourned at 9:00pm. President Gail Goldman expressed a heartfelt thank you to all chapter members who made this a successful event!

The next Columbus monthly chapter meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm located at Safelite Autoglass, 2400 Farmers Drive, Columbus, OH 43235. Sonya Tyler, Founder of Tailor-Made Training Solutions, LLC will be the distinguished keynote speaker and presenter.

NAPW Columbus Chapter Hosted Development Coach at October Meeting and Discussed Upcoming Chapter Getaway

The NAPW Columbus Local Chapter held a meeting on October 20th at LaScala Restaurant, 4199 W. Dublin Granville Road, Dublin, OH 43017. Members in attendance included: Gail V. Goldman, President, Megan Gilbride, Sha?Ron Grace, Amanda Helber, Jennifer (Jenni) Martini, Sonya Tyler, Mary Richardson and special guest.

Mary Richardson welcomed all attendees in Gail?s absence and opened the meeting at 6:38 pm. Gail arrived at 6:40 pm and welcomed the following new members to NAPW Columbus Chapter: Felicia Cauley, Joy Coulter, Liz Finchum, Amy Fischer, Vernessa Gales, Theresa Hughes, Christy Johnson, Kathleen Kuhns, Priscillia Sales, Beverlee Sokol, Janeen Tutolo, Irene Whitesides, and Domonique Williams.

Due to a last minute challenge, the location for October?s monthly chapter meeting was changed to LaScala Restaurant. Conferencing service was not available and Gail extends her sincere apologies for members who may have tried to call in. Gail informed members that the conferencing service is not intended to replace face-to-face networking among members, but as a supplement for those members that are otherwise unable to meet.

Gail thanked all participants who attended September?s networking dinner event that was held at LaScala Restaurant.

The first order of business was further discussions about solutions for increasing face-to-face attendance at the monthly meetings. As a group, attendees agreed to seek a permanent place for monthly chapter meetings. Discussions were also held regarding how to contact chapter members via survey on their interests and for their commitment(s) to start regularly attending monthly chapter meetings. Guest participant, Sha?Ron Grace recommended the chapter contact a survey service to assist with survey design and implementation.

The presentation opened with members giving a 30 second commercial.

Columbus chapter member Sonya Tyler, Founder of Tailor-Made Training Solutions, LLC and special guest Sha?Ron Grace, CEO/Sr. Development Coach of Becoming, Inc., gave an exceptional presentation for members around the theme of YES; and the acronyms for Y(ou) E(nvision) S(uccess), which involves affecting change in women?s lives and becoming the success envisioned. Sha?Ron stated, ?To become it, we must continue to confirm it.?

Guest author and coach, Sha?Ron Grace had her book available, which is titled: A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S. of Success for Aspiring Business Woman & Entrepreneurs.????With over fifteen years of public speaking and personal development coaching, Sha?Ron Grace?s firm provides personal development coaching, motivational speeches, success books, CD?s, articles and performing artist development. She produces and hosts a motivational radio talk show entitled ?The Becoming Show?, which is becoming nationally syndicated. It was a pleasure having Ms. Grace spend the evening with us. For the members who were not able to attend and meet this dynamic woman and entrepreneur, the chapter plans to have her return.

Sonya Tyler topped the night off with a special presentation of her travel business.

?As a group, attendees agreed to plan for a holiday getaway coordinated by our very own member Sonya Tyler,? Gail said. ?The trip is tentatively planned for December or January 2012 in beautiful Cancun, Mexico. More details are forthcoming. Ladies, your support and commitment to make this getaway a success is greatly appreciated!?

The meeting adjourned at 9:00pm. November?s chapter meetings will not be held due to the Thanksgiving holiday. December?s chapter meeting is tentatively considered the holiday getaway. NAPW Naples Local Chapter Held Two Networking Events this December to Connect, Have Fun, and Prepare for 2012

New Ground Photography held a special reception for the NAPW Naples Local Chapter on December 5th, 2011. NAPW offers professional networking for women and learning opportunities through local chapters across the country.

Alex Zankevich and Greg Zasinets, the professional photographers that donated their time during the NAPW Naples Chapter Launch in October, sponsored a Wine and Cheese gathering for the chapter at their studio space.

The party was complimentary to chapter members so they could view the photos from ?Putting on Your Professional Profile? at New Ground Photography. Alex and Greg allowed the chapter to use their studio for the event so the group could preview the photos from the launch on their LCD 52? screen. They had a slideshow of all the members? photos and presented it to the NAPW Naples Chapter.

New Ground Photography (NGP) mainly specializes in wedding photography, producing exceptional magazine quality work in Naples and Miami. They also demonstrated that they are capable of much more with the work they did for the chapter. The party was a success and the members who were not able to attend will be emailed with their headshots.

The NAPW Naples Chapter also had an amazing party at M Waterfront Grille to kick off the holiday season and end 2011. M Waterfront Grille is an upscale restaurant located at the Village in Venetian Bay. The party was held in a private room that was reserved for the NAPW Naples Chapter.

?The room had stunning views of the bay, exceptional food, and outstanding service. This was an amazing party that included a gift collection of books to donate to underprivileged children, as well as an ornament exchange,? said Margaret Jacobs, President.

Chapter Vice President Kena Yoke made a few announcements and Maurica Hurley shared about her trip with Camden Smith to Miami?s holiday party. All of the attendees introduced themselves and new members were also introduced including Lisa Baldwin of Baldwin Interiors Inc., and Stephanie Mackley of Coyote Beautiful. Also, gift certificates and prizes were donated from various local vendors such as Southwest Computer Services, Body Aesthetics of Naples, Naples Network Services, Starbucks, and more. Florida Weekly reporter Bernadette La Paglia came to the party and took a group picture. The party was a smashing success for the NAPW Naples Chapter, ending the year strong. The NAPW Naples Chapter continues to grow, contribute to local charitable causes, and be a force to recognize in 2012.

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) is the largest and most recognized network of female professionals. NAPW provides a forum where women can interact, exchange ideas, educate, network, and empower.
