HR Experts Agree: Shift In Business Fundamentals Is Driving A Massive Reset in Global HR

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 10, 2011

Worldwide experts in HR trends are seeing a strategic shift in how companies recruit and retain talent across organizations, long considered a critically important driver of business competitiveness and growth - according to Executive Networks.

Talent development strategies are shifting away from the so-called 'war for talent' that had companies competing for and raiding competitors for key talent, to a focus on building sustainable bench strength from within.

That shift was the focus of the recent Future of HR Summit in Brussels in June, which gathered global innovators in HR and thought leaders from five continents for a two-day deep dive into the rapidly evolving HR function in business worldwide.

Executive Networks co-produced the Summit, in collaboration with John Herbert of the European HR Forum and Walt Cleaver, former president of the Human Resource Planning Society and current principal of Cleaver Consulting Group.

?This is not your father?s war for talent ? that?s for sure,? said Mike Dulworth, CEO of Executive Networks. ?Our global experts all agree that the focus has shifted within organizations ? and away from focusing on just skills & capabilities, to developing a deep global mindset with an immersion in cultural norms, and the political and economic realities of a given country or region,? Dulworth added.

The Future of HR Summit featured experts on issues & trends in most of the world?s key regions ? including Europe, Asia, North and South America, and Africa.

Summit speakers included Paul Evans, The Shell Chaired Professor of Human Resources and Organisational Development, INSEAD; Luca Solari, Professor of Organization Theory and HRM, University of Milan; Arunav Banerjee, HR Chair, Soil India; Ed Lawler, Professor of Management, University of Southern California; Satish Pradham Chief, Group HR, Tata Group; Peter Attfield, VP HR, Unilever; and Victor Agnellini, Leader of University and Transformation, Alcatel-Lucent.

?Global leaders agree: The future is about talent ? and the shift is away from acquiring it to developing talent within. But it?s also about developing talent in powerful new ways,? said Walt Cleaver, co-producer of the Future of HR Summit. ?Competencies and skills are still important, but all our experts agree that there?s a global shift in developing talent through deep personal and organizational experiences that build a truly global mindset and a strong internal leadership IQ for handling challenges in a volatile and uncertain business world,? added Cleaver.

The Future of HR Summit drew involvement from a wide range of global companies and organizations including, Tata, Lenovo, AXA, Unilever, Dell, Alcatel-Lucent, INSEAD, USC, Thunderbird, Groupo Santillana, Boston Consulting Group, Alstom, H&M, University of Milan, Reckitt Benckiser, SWIFT, Hertz Global Holdings, Lafarge, ExxonMobil, 3M, Monsanto, Novartis, Oxford University SAID Business School, ENDESA, Baxter Health Care, NorthgateArinso, Cenovus Energy, School of Inspired Leadership India, Centre for Applied HR Research, Hong Kong Institute of HR Management, Sweet Sensations and others.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) November 09, 2011

Follow us on LinkedIn - Machine condition monitoring assumes strategic significance within the manufacturing and process industries, whereby, integrity, productivity and reliability of a plant are ensured. Also referred to as asset health management, condition monitoring involves most of the expert monitoring techniques and strategic tools that help in decision making process. Given its role in maintaining capital assets in good form, the market prospects for machine condition monitoring equipment has long been influenced by capital investments in key end-use industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, pulp & paper, metals, and heavy equipment manufacturing, among others. Growing prominence of plant asset management and the manufacturers? drive towards optimizing productivity and efficiency of plant assets have been driving demand for machine conditioning monitoring equipment over the years. The growing importance of Machine Condition Monitoring Equipment can be put to perspective by the fact that the market continued to register steady growth in demand even amidst the recent economic recession, which affected most of the other industrial equipment markets. Growing importance of predictive maintenance programs, especially so, against a backdrop of tight liquidity, which adds pressure on cost efficiency and justification of both fixed and variable expenses, provided much required boost to the adoption of machine conditioning monitoring equipment in a depressed economy. The need to reduce plant operating costs by reducing maintenance costs, optimizing maintenance activities during planned shutdowns and lowering the instances of unscheduled outages also provided business sense to invest in such equipment. Worldwide Demand for C- and Ku-band Satellite Transponders (36-MHz TPEs) to Reach 7,840 by 2017, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) November 11, 2011

Follow us on LinkedIn - Despite being volatile in nature to an extent, the satellite industry, with its solid base, is slated to have strong growth potential, considering the fact that it forms an essential element in meeting major telecommunications service requirements. Technological advancements during the last few years greatly enhanced the compression technology. Enhanced compression technologies and digitalization have resulted in transmission of more content on each transponder, thereby restraining transponder demand. However, the boom in demand for digital satellite television and HDTV transmission has more than offset the restraining effect of digitalization. Consumer services, including last-mile broadband and DTH are slated to expand at a higher growth rate than infrastructure services, including ISP-to-backbone and trunk telephony services.

The global satellite transponder demand has remained buoyant despite the economic woes engulfing the world. Growing popularity of satellite TV, particularly in the developing countries, is the primary growth driver, and is supported by the introduction of high definition (HD) and other such bandwidth demanding applications. Emergence of higher bandwidth consuming 3D channels, with an average 40-50% higher capacity requirement is likely to provide a new thrust to the satellite transponder market. Market would also be driven by increasing demand for transponders from communications services sector, especially cellular backhaul, government communications and corporate communications. Apart from the aforementioned factors, other catalysts for demand growth include direct radio, consumer broadband Internet services, data services and mobile telephony.

As stated by the new market research report on Satellite Transponders, the Asia Pacific region continues to remain the largest regional market. Despite the gloomy economic conditions prevalent across the world, the Asia-Pacific satellite industry remains buoyant with transponder leasing revenues exhibiting an upward trend. Transponder utilization continues to rise, maintaining the momentum from the last five years. Intercontinental video transmissions and DTH TV, the primary growth drivers for the commercial communications satellite market, continue to record impressive growth rates owing to low penetration of pay TV across most of the region and the emergence of TV as a low-cost entertainment provider. DTH services in the region vary from country to country, mainly due to the fact that the region experiences widespread cultural diversity. The scenario necessitates domestic satellite operators to present customers with more regional TV channels. Investors and media companies from the developed world such as Western Europe and North America are thronging to the Asian market due to stagnant domestic demand.

In addition to television broadcasting, mobile telephony is also stimulating growth in the satellite market, with satellites being the most important link in transmission of voice as well as data across regions. Middle East and Africa are expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.35% over the analysis period. The market for Broadcast Applications is the largest end-use segment. Trunking and enterprise networks markets have been resilient to the global financial meltdown. Trunking Applications represents the fastest growing end-use segment with a CAGR of 5.0% over the analysis period, driven by introduction of new dedicated capacity.

Major players in the marketplace include Thales Alenia Space, APT Satellite Holdings Limited, Boeing Satellite Systems International, Inc., EADS Astrium, Eutelsat Communications, Horizon Satellite Services FZ LLC., Indian Space Research Organization, Intelsat (Luxembourg) S.A, Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications, Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems, Loral Space & Communications Inc., NEC TOSHIBA Space Systems Ltd., Orbital Sciences Corp., Russian Satellite Communications Company, Satelites Mexicanos S.A. de C.V., SES S.A. and The Arab Satellite Communication Organization.

The research report titled "Satellite Transponders: A Global Strategic Business Report" announced by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., provides a comprehensive review of trends, issues, strategic industry activities, and profiles of major companies worldwide. The report provides market estimates and projections in number of 36 Megahertz Transponder Equivalents (TPE) for end-use segments Broadcast Applications, Trunking Applications, Networking Applications, and Reserve Purposes, across geographic markets such as the North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Middle East/Africa.
